Get JeepN took on the trails of the northern Ocotillo Wells area. It was a sunny day with a slight breeze, perfect off roading conditions. We headed up Tectonic Gorge trail at about 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The trail wound its way up the narrow canyon giving us many opportunities to test the flexibility of our Jeeps. Once we got to the top we stopped and had lunch, the view from there was incredible. After lunch we went down a different canyon trail which was even more challenging. There was always an optional easy route to take when we came upon a difficult side spur. On the way back to camp we stopped at the 4×4 obstacle course. There were several obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty. Some of us attempted them and others watched, either way it was entertaining. There was only one break down and we were able to get it fixed at camp. Back at camp we had a taco dinner and some of us stayed to hang around the campfire and talk about the day’s adventure. Sunday morning started with a pancake breakfast, then a few of us took a short run through the badlands of the Truckhaven riding area. It was a great weekend trip.
